GM received a rare written notice from the U.S. Attorney's Office clearing it, and a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed it, The Detroit News reported.

Toyota, Honda, Hyundai sales sink as virus crimps demand

April deliveries fell 54 percent at Toyota Motor, 54 percent at American Honda, 39 percent at Hyundai and 38 percent at Kia, better than some forecasts. While the outbreak upended  volume across the industry -- analysts project U.S. new-vehicle sales skidded 50 to 55 percent -- Hyundai credited the "ingenuity of our dealers" and "robust customer assistance programs” for helping mitigate the impact.
