BMW says its new fwd models are too small for the U.S.

BMW has decided not to bring either of its new 2-series front-wheel-drive models to the United States. The 2-series Gran Tourer, which debuted here last week, and the 2-series Active Tourer are too small for the U.S. market, a spokesman said.
