GM to invest $1 billion to expand, renovate Mich. tech center

General Motors, in a major boost for its randd activities, will invest $1 billion to expand and renovate operations at its technical center in suburban Detroit. The plans for the 310-acre campus include new design studios and a multi-story IT building.
