U.S., China dig in over trade as tariffs take hold

President Trump fired the biggest shot yet in the global trade war by imposing tariffs on $34 billion of Chinese imports, including auto parts. China, in retaliation, hiked tariffs on American light-vehicle imports to 40 percent from 15 percent.
