GM's Betsy Ancker-Johnson, acclaimed scientist, leaves behind legacy of firsts

Ancker-Johnson, the first female vice president at General Motors, died July 2 at 93. GM handed her two of the industry's most controversial areas to oversee at the time: environmental compliance and vehicle safety.
