VW discloses origin of diesel deception: Meeting U.S. NOx rules was 'impossible'

VW said today that engineers installed illegal emissions software in 2.0-liter diesels sold in the U.S. after finding it 'impossible' to meet tough U.S. limits on nitrogen oxide emissions legally.
